MÁADÁN is an African botanical skincare brand, handmade in Lagos, Nigeria.

Every formula we make is built around a short list of ingredients that earn their place: botanicals pressed, whipped, and steeped from the soils of West Africa. Shea. Baobab. Ghana black soap has a heritage older than the word skincare.

Our products are plant-based, made in small batches, and formulated without fillers or shortcuts, because what goes on your skin matters, and because the plants our ancestors trusted are still the ones worth trusting.

MÁADÁN is an African skincare brand dedicated to total well-being, reimagining GLOW as an inner experience. Our name is inspired by the Yoruba term “Adúmáradán”, which translates to "one with dark and shiny skin" or "one who shines through their dark complexion." In essence, it means "Keep shining." Our mission is to curate with soul, creativity, and love. We were born out of a passion for creating products tailored to the needs of melanin-rich skin, utilising potent African botanicals and ingredients while drawing inspiration from ancestral African rituals.

Our Culture

MÁADÁN  is women-owned, women-run, and self-financed. We're a small company by choice,  because the only way to make things we're proud of is by hand, in small batches, with our eyes on every jar. 

Our butters and oils come from West Africa: shea from the savannah, baobab from old trees, black soap with a heritage older than the word "skincare." We work with suppliers who take the land seriously ethical growers, sustainable producers, people whose craft is older than any trend. 

What's not in our products matters just as much. No parabens. No petroleum. No mineral oil. No artificial colour. Just premium essential oils, plant-based formulas, and ingredients that earn their place.
